It’s refreshing to get the chance to spend some time on an assignment without having to rush off to another. Especially when there’s visual opportunities and some freedom to explore. I enjoyed this rare occurrence when a local charter school held a fundraising eco fashion show, where students and adults modeled outfits they fashioned from discarded materials and trash. I wandered around behind the scenes beforehand to watch some of the models prepping and to check out their wears. Plastic bags, shower curtains, bike parts, and potato chip bags were among the pieces of rubbish creatively transformed into a variety of dresses. The models then showed off their impressive and unique designs on the runway:
