Hauling with Hooves

photo essay
Over the course of a few months around the end of the year, I spent some time shooting an essay on Bob, a horse logger, and his Suffolk Punch draft horse Harry. Once a staple of farming, logging, and industry, horses have been replaced over time by more efficient machinery. Bob’s an old school kind of guy though, and performs what he calls ecofriendly woodland management with Harry.
I tagged along for a few sessions as they tried to salvage a tree for The Ale Apothecary’s next creation (the chronicle of the first tree here), and did some general tree pulling.
