Access to, and ownership of water will continue to be an escalating issue in the Western U.S. for the foreseeable future. I explored some of the complexities of the situation along the Klamath River and surrounding areas last month on assignment for The Wall Street Journal. I spent a few days mostly driving all over Klamath County making portraits of farmers, ranchers, and tribal members with contrasting views on who should have rights to water. With a dry year possibly ahead and a history of contention between groups, it will be interesting to see if an agreement can again be reached.
A few portraits and scenes from Southern Oregon:
The two close-up portraits are wonderful!
