Precautions for Covid have continued to alter daily life and many of the annual events and traditions we would typically plan on year after year. Students, in particular, have experienced this disruption from the norm, as they’ve tried to adjust to remote learning, distancing, and mask-wearing, with varying degrees of success. Schools have had to get creative to host in-person events like graduations. I recently photographed OSU-Cascades take on a ceremony in the time of Covid: a drive-thru (or walk-through) event in which faculty and staff greeted students as they went by. Certainly one of the more memorable and unique ceremonies I’ve photographed. I also included a few portraits I made of some of the college’s distinguished student graduates.
