Costumed Cross 18

The Cyclocross Crusade Halloween races in Bend are a staple of the annual series. It’s been a few years since I last photographed this colorful, wacky event, so I was eager to revisit it and look for some different shots than I’ve come back with in the past. Dinosaurs, superheros, and anything calling for short-shorts were among the varied costume offerings, with outfitted racers somehow navigating tight turns and brutal uphills. The early evening light made an already visual event even better. Backlit dust always looks cool too.
