2020

year in review

A year unlike any I’ve ever experienced. While 2020 had a few high points, it definitely feels cathartic to say it’s now January 2021. After a year in which we faced a myriad of challenges, including the rise of a global pandemic, historic wildfires, political unrest, struggles for social justice, and employment/financial/housing insecurities, it feels hopeful to start anew in 2021.

Throughout my career, I’ve mostly covered news and events. 2020 was filled with about as much news as any year could be, and yet that’s what I photographed the least. It was a year of reflection and slowing down a bit to grow as a freelance photographer. I’m looking forward to continuing to develop my voice and vision in 2021.
